All managers are micromanagers, do not care about strategy. Everything is driven by activity. There are two giant monitors in the middle of the sales floor displaying the team’s phone activity and the managers, including executives, just hover around the monitors and then go bug reps about having a low dial count. We had a rep that was bringing in big enterprise sized deals consistently and our sales director told him to focus more on smaller deals. He left the company a few weeks later for a much better opportunity. Management does zero coaching or strategizing. All they care about is how many dials you are making as a rep. Do not help find the right prospects nor do they help reps work on making quality calls. All of the “positive” reviews are fake in a disaster recovery effort to hide the negative reviews that have been coming up
