Pros

Basically the only pro is dress code and company paid health benefits.

Cons

This place is the epitome of "good old boys club". If you do not know senior management you will not make it. Senior leadership (regional manager, GM, team leaders) has no leadership qualifications or experience at all so micromanagement is out of control, not to mention more qualified individuals are prohibited from leadership positions. Leadership does not trust their employees, promotions are based purely on whether or not managemnet likes you, senior brokers pass accounts to their friends to help them get promoted, pre qualified leads are given to managements close friends. This company tries to lure you in with culture and work environment but seriously ask your self before going to work here if you want to be associated with a company that prides itself on no drug testing, a culture of substance abuse and drinking. CEO is out of control. There is absolutely no opportunity to move up here. My final straw at Nolan was when I said something to my GM and they completely ignored me, and when I landed a new account, their response was for me to make more calls. No congratulations, no keep up the good work, just "go make more calls". Took a sick day, and management neglected my loads I had that day, had to beg them for help from the doctors office but when their buddy was gone to cedar point, the whole office was behind them helping out. I have way too much to type here, just please rethink when you want to work here, your time would be better spent at a large respected conpany like CH or Coyote, I regret working here. The main demographic at this company is someone with a DUI, drinking problem or drug habit so think before you want to be associated with this toxic workplace.

Thank you so much for your feedback! We’re glad our casual work attire is a favorable policy with you, as well as our health benefits. It’s one of the traits that makes our work culture so unique! We want to take the time to clarify some things from the review. First, Nolan Transportation Group takes great pride in promoting employees from within rather than hiring laterally from another company. NTG prides itself on promoting individuals who show the qualities embodied in great leaders, not just tenure based. Second, the health and safety of our employees is our #1 concern. As such, NTG has strict policies regarding the health and safety of our employees in the workplace. If this type of behavior does occur we strongly suggest reporting it to the HR department so it can be addressed. Once again we appreciate the feedback and will continue to grow and improve as one of the top brokerages.

Pros

The people make work easier and enjoyable.

Cons

Logistics is constantly changing. This is not a company issue, but you have to be prepared to stay on your toes and adjust on the fly in this industry.

Pros

NTG was a place where I thought I would be long term. Working in the Dallas office, I genuinely felt like I had found a home. I enjoyed everyone I met and the friendships I made along the way. The memories I made with my hiring class are ones I’ll never forget. I sincerely hope our paths cross again. I’d also like to thank my managers for their exceptional leadership. I truly gained valuable skills that I’ll carry with me into my next role. The same goes for everyone I met in NTG’s Austin office during my visit.

Cons

As for the companies decision, I have a lot of thoughts. From my perspective, this came down to numbers on a spreadsheet. What wasn’t seen was the work that many of us put in behind the scenes during a very difficult market, often working stale accounts that had little chance of converting because of past relationships and mistakes. I strongly disagree with the decision. That said, I can honestly say I gave this job everything I had and more. I left it all on the field, and I’ll always be proud of that. Despite how things ended, I’m grateful for my experience at NTG, the people I met, and everything I learned along the way. I’m excited to see what I can accomplish in my next role and where this next chapter takes me.
