Pros
1) You can wear whatever you want. That's about it.
Cons
Where do I even begin? NTG was the absolute worst job I ever had. As a naive, recent college graduate I was so excited to begin my first "salary" job, however, that excitement quickly disappeared once I began working here. If you are looking for any form of slight professionalism where people are not screaming, having tantrums, making constant racist and misogynistic slurs then stay far away from NTG. As 1 out of 5 women in the office with over 80 employees, be prepared for sexist/flirtatious comments everyday. Senior brokers are treated like royalty and their inappropriate comments that were often heard by upper management would just be dismissed. There was an incident where one of my senior broker co-workers told me that "my butt looked amazing in those leggings" right in front of my GM and he completely ignored it. If you're an over-privileged, fratty white boy that loves degrading women and screwing people over this is the place for you. Be prepared to lose all of your moral working here...you are encouraged to lie and screw your customers and carriers over in order to profit. I had never been more depressed in my life working in this office and the moment I left I felt such a weight being lifted off my shoulders. And the former CEO Kevin Nolan? What a joke; I've never met a more incompetent, childish, creepy, former CEO in my life. There are rumors he stepped down as CEO due to harassing a young recruiter and bringing contraband onto a cruise ship. I could go on and on about how terrible this job is, but it's not worth all of the niddy-griddy details. And if someone from HR decides to respond to my comment with the same, repeated message they do for all of the other comments here on Glassdoor with, "The freight industry is a 24/7 business and you need to have tough skin to work here" is a downplayed excuse; my fellow co-workers and myself who all left NTG were extremely hardworking and dedicated. What separated us from the individuals who decided to stay at NTG is that we all knew we could land far better jobs that actually value their employees. Do yourself a favor and save yourself from this corrupt frat house company, I'm honestly so surprised they're still in business. There is a reason that there is an extremely high turnover rate.
