Pros

The managers here are good people who care about your success despite the management issues above them.

Cons

THIS IS A 75% A COLD CALL SALES POSITION and they do NOT make that clear in the recruiting process (you will also be required to work on weekends with customers calling you at all hours- not made clear in recruiting either). The metrics for the job are not indicative of your success and hard work. The new commission structure has caused the best performing brokers to quit, making it hell for everyone who is left there as upper management is coming down hard due to lack of margins being made (highest performing employees quit = lower margins). Benefits have been cut and the overall atmosphere/work environment has diminished due to morale. do not work here. It seems like a fun environment when you interview but its not worth the constant badgering about how you're not making enough sales calls and not running enough loads. The commission potential is not worth the constant nagging and micromanaging that the management is forced to put in place. Management/personnel changes are constant and unpredictable making it a very uneasy position to be in as far as job stability goes.

Thank you for your review. The NTG Recruiting Process is very straightforward where the Recruiters explain clearly what specific positions will entail, including cold calls and answering any customer questions after hours, since the transportation industry is a 24/7 business. We enjoy getting to know candidates and being upfront about the day-to-day with NTG so that we can find the best fit for the position! We wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.

Pros

-No dresscode -Fun/young people in the office

Cons

-You feel on edge in the office. People get fired at the drop of a hat and will get written up for being 1 minute late. -Changes happen often and too quickly to keep up with. Your position may change literally overnight and you have a new team/leader the next morning. - Being in operations, there is no room for growth. Literally, none. You don't see any compensation for all of the behind-the-scenes work you do for the brokers (who make all of the commission). - The atmosphere here is completely unprofessional, the NTG office itself and most of the customers/carriers you talk to on a daily basis. - Management is slowly eliminating all of the incentives of working for NTG. We no longer have happy hours, out of office events, beer in the office on Fridays, etc. - I have worked at NTG for 1.5 years, and I know maybe 5 people that are happy in the office.

Pros

Basically the only pro is dress code and company paid health benefits.

Cons

This place is the epitome of "good old boys club". If you do not know senior management you will not make it. Senior leadership (regional manager, GM, team leaders) has no leadership qualifications or experience at all so micromanagement is out of control, not to mention more qualified individuals are prohibited from leadership positions. Leadership does not trust their employees, promotions are based purely on whether or not managemnet likes you, senior brokers pass accounts to their friends to help them get promoted, pre qualified leads are given to managements close friends. This company tries to lure you in with culture and work environment but seriously ask your self before going to work here if you want to be associated with a company that prides itself on no drug testing, a culture of substance abuse and drinking. CEO is out of control. There is absolutely no opportunity to move up here. My final straw at Nolan was when I said something to my GM and they completely ignored me, and when I landed a new account, their response was for me to make more calls. No congratulations, no keep up the good work, just "go make more calls". Took a sick day, and management neglected my loads I had that day, had to beg them for help from the doctors office but when their buddy was gone to cedar point, the whole office was behind them helping out. I have way too much to type here, just please rethink when you want to work here, your time would be better spent at a large respected conpany like CH or Coyote, I regret working here. The main demographic at this company is someone with a DUI, drinking problem or drug habit so think before you want to be associated with this toxic workplace.

Thank you so much for your feedback! We’re glad our casual work attire is a favorable policy with you, as well as our health benefits. It’s one of the traits that makes our work culture so unique! We want to take the time to clarify some things from the review. First, Nolan Transportation Group takes great pride in promoting employees from within rather than hiring laterally from another company. NTG prides itself on promoting individuals who show the qualities embodied in great leaders, not just tenure based. Second, the health and safety of our employees is our #1 concern. As such, NTG has strict policies regarding the health and safety of our employees in the workplace. If this type of behavior does occur we strongly suggest reporting it to the HR department so it can be addressed. Once again we appreciate the feedback and will continue to grow and improve as one of the top brokerages.
