Used to be a good place to work but not anymore - Operations Nolan Transportation Group Employee Review

Pros

Good benefits, decent PTO, holidays off

Cons

The recent changes in management, VPs, and HR have taken a serious decline in the last few months. I’ve been with this company for a while now and in the last few months I have seen a serious decline in company policies and morale . Recently I have witnessed a specific employee get away with sexist and derogatory behavior because they are a high level broker that makes the company a lot of money. A once high level broker was allowed to keep their position while others were let go even though they was costing the company revenue and participating in immoral business practices just to gain a customer and management looked the other way or didn’t handle it properly. Employees are showing up to work still intoxicated after attending company events the night before and not using the companies safe driving policy of being reimbursed for an Uber. This used to be a fun safe place to work where the employees stayed because of the culture but that has completely changed.

Pros

The people make work easier and enjoyable.

Cons

Logistics is constantly changing. This is not a company issue, but you have to be prepared to stay on your toes and adjust on the fly in this industry.

Pros

NTG was a place where I thought I would be long term. Working in the Dallas office, I genuinely felt like I had found a home. I enjoyed everyone I met and the friendships I made along the way. The memories I made with my hiring class are ones I’ll never forget. I sincerely hope our paths cross again. I’d also like to thank my managers for their exceptional leadership. I truly gained valuable skills that I’ll carry with me into my next role. The same goes for everyone I met in NTG’s Austin office during my visit.

Cons

As for the companies decision, I have a lot of thoughts. From my perspective, this came down to numbers on a spreadsheet. What wasn’t seen was the work that many of us put in behind the scenes during a very difficult market, often working stale accounts that had little chance of converting because of past relationships and mistakes. I strongly disagree with the decision. That said, I can honestly say I gave this job everything I had and more. I left it all on the field, and I’ll always be proud of that. Despite how things ended, I’m grateful for my experience at NTG, the people I met, and everything I learned along the way. I’m excited to see what I can accomplish in my next role and where this next chapter takes me.
