Pros

You can wear comfy clothes to work..

Cons

Good luck if you are a woman in this company. This is definitely a frat house and not a company to be if you were a woman. They constantly micromanage you and badger you about calls, whenever you actually have customers that give you business, you cannot get the loads covered, which will make you miss your goal. They said very very high goals that are absolutely unrealistic and a profit margin that is impossible to me. There’s not a possible way to make anything more than just your salary here. This is not a sales job, this is a call center.. there’s absolutely zero room for growth, and when they hire you, they tell you that they are not laying anyone off because we are growing so much, and then 2 to 3 months later they start laying tons of people off. I’m not sure how this company is still running, because they treat their employees very poorly and do not invest in their growth. They micromanage you, belittle you and make you work long hours, just so you can make the same amount of money and not have any growth. I would not recommend this company to anyone, it was sort of good for sales experience, but other than that I have nothing good to say. Also, the multimodal department and the business development representatives are the ones that make this company money. The higher ups need to be a little bit more humble, considering we are the ones that are keeping this company running.

Pros

The people make work easier and enjoyable.

Cons

Logistics is constantly changing. This is not a company issue, but you have to be prepared to stay on your toes and adjust on the fly in this industry.

Pros

NTG was a place where I thought I would be long term. Working in the Dallas office, I genuinely felt like I had found a home. I enjoyed everyone I met and the friendships I made along the way. The memories I made with my hiring class are ones I’ll never forget. I sincerely hope our paths cross again. I’d also like to thank my managers for their exceptional leadership. I truly gained valuable skills that I’ll carry with me into my next role. The same goes for everyone I met in NTG’s Austin office during my visit.

Cons

As for the companies decision, I have a lot of thoughts. From my perspective, this came down to numbers on a spreadsheet. What wasn’t seen was the work that many of us put in behind the scenes during a very difficult market, often working stale accounts that had little chance of converting because of past relationships and mistakes. I strongly disagree with the decision. That said, I can honestly say I gave this job everything I had and more. I left it all on the field, and I’ll always be proud of that. Despite how things ended, I’m grateful for my experience at NTG, the people I met, and everything I learned along the way. I’m excited to see what I can accomplish in my next role and where this next chapter takes me.
