Pros

The People: The people here are genuinely some of the best people I have worked with in my career - especially the sales teams (very kind in comparison to other sales driven orgs). The Flexibility: I work from home but the office in San Francisco is beautiful with lots of working spaces. I love the flexibility of being able to still work across the country for such an exciting start up. The Product: I CANNOT say enough amazing things about the engineering and product teams. They have built an amazing product - and while we still have ups and downs like every other start up - the speed to fix a feature or add a new product is incredibly fast. You know the team is dedicated to actually producing great products that are actually useful for sales reps. They are constantly innovating which is in great contrast to my last role where the product was actually awful and even simple bug fixes required a 6 month lead time. The Customers: We have some amazing customers at Nooks, but what I like the most is that the founders actually value what the customers think. In previous companies there are so many execs that can care less what the customer actually wants and needs vs here at Nooks we take almost every request as actionable feedback to make the tool work better for that individual customer.

Cons

Benefits: We had a huge adjustment to benefits this year to make some much needed improvements for 2026. Just like any other start up, you won't get the most amazing benefits in the world, but the people team is dedicated to make improvements as we grow! Work/Life Balance: Being completely transparent if you are balancing a lot in life right now with family and other commitments this may not be the place for you. The trade offs for working at a unicorn start-up is that you spend majority of your time working. Many days I work outside of typical hours and probably rack up around 50 - 60 hours a week, engineering racks up way more. Speed to execution is huge here so if you are working on a big project the expectation will be to ship it much sooner than a typical 6 month lead time you might get at an enterprise organization. There are a lot of one-person departments here so being able to be scrappy and wear many different hats is important. Leadership: This is really a pro and a con. We have very young founders, however they are extremely dedicated and smart. They are always open to new ideas vs being set in old ways - but if you are coming from a much more process-oriented org it is possible to get frustrated with how they run things.

Pros

- Great company trajectory - Pay is competitive compared to similar roles on the market - Fun product to sell and our customers usually really love us - The majority of people who work here are really great and fun to be around - Solid group of founders that are ambitious and have done a great job creating a sense of community across the company

Cons

- Your direct manager can make or break your experience (most of them are great, but not all of them) - The work often feels never-ending; most days I'm working at least 10 hours if not more; it's very easy to get burnt out and many do - Depending on your team, you might not be getting enough support and will have to figure things out on your own - There's often miscommunication or lack thereof between departments & this becomes more difficult to navigate as we continue to scale - We're heavily understaffed in multiple departments which is causing many of us to work over our capacity
