Pros
-Great place to build a resume and get experience in the world of windows protocols, dicom, hl7, and basic hospital systems. -lot of good people to work with! - Stable place to work(pro and con), you can be lazy and not get fired. They are patient. - your desk is yours. You dont share seats, and people are kind enough to leave your things alone. Trustworthy co-workers!! - They respect you and your religion. - Extremely knowledgeable Escalation team! - Your boss used to do YOUR EXACT JOB! (invaluable!! most places wont be like this!) - Small company. Support felt like family...development felt like russia during an election...wut are they DOING over there???? - D.Ps beard. Literally made the job! - My team lead pounding his desk when he was making a point....mmmm i can still hear it
Cons
- Fixes come slow and in upgrades (UGH!) - windows servers. COMPLETELY unfit for anything but tinkering, and minesweeper. - On call was a nightmare. phone rings? "welp guess I dont need sleep." - "we just can't do that" mentality. Really hard to hear when you have customers beating down the door for some change. - work hard, make tech 3. Nowhere else to go...unless someone dies...sad. - No new title? no significant raise. - Benefits could really use a bump. - I NEED TIME OFF BEFORE MY HEAD EXPLODES!!! Granted the company was very forgiving if you needed to take time when you had none...which was about 90% of support after about march. - People going to work sick and spreading the plague because they didn't have sick time. - "We want our tech 3's at around 67k...you're one of the best, but you're just not happy enough so we'll put you at...58k" "wat??" - Felt like a tinker toy for a very insulting owner. I'm sure he wasn't trying to be that way, but it sure sounded/felt like it. - Each team was like its own company. One team would be miserable, the other would be awesome! one team had 9 hour shifts, the other had 8. - C.H. didn't get his car for like 3 years after paying for it!!! - So many "pats on the back" and stupid jokes about "you get a donut on friday for a raise" after doing something that others thought impossible, or incredibly hard. Going above and beyond was just "doing your job" while others made way more doing nothing, and even actively screwing up sites. - company model, or order of priority was backwards and upside down.
