Pros

Off Sundays.It is a job.

Cons

The back office is STILL working remotely. Meanwhile the branches have worked through the pandemic and get no recognition. Most branches are short staffed and they rarely ever hire anyone to help out the other employees. The back office got a hefty raise and the branch employees only get 3 percent a year. The back office is showed favoritism while the branch employees get treated like second class citizens You get reprimanded for asking questions and talked down to by Retail Managers.

OceanFirst Bank Response
4y
At OceanFirst Bank, all associates are valued and appreciated, and with our open-door policy your regional manager would appreciate the opportunity to connect with you and discuss your concerns. Positions that can perform job duties remotely are eligible for a hybrid work schedule including days working in the office. OceanFirst has made strides in tackling the age-old discussion of back office verses the front line, and we continue to build bridges of mutual understanding, better communications, and opportunities to partner for the best interest of our customers. We agree recognizing a job well done can go a long way to encourage the team. Associate feedback is taken seriously and considered as we continue to make the Bank an even better place to work.

Pros

The orientation process at OceanFirst Bank was exceptionally well executed. It created a welcoming, non-intimidating environment where interns were introduced to the company’s culture and daily operations. Senior leaders—including the CEO, treasurer, and other top executives—took the time to speak about their roles and their contributions to fostering that culture. Interns were also given valuable opportunities to network and connect with one another. Overall, the experience was both engaging and highly enjoyable.

Cons

There were no cons in this experience.
