Very large company and North American presence in the Quick Service/Foodservice industry with the most complete portfolio of offerings to the customer base.
Cons
Around 100 plants which range from 50 people to over 500 people, which they try to apply the same principles to all and it just does not work. The organization is too large and too lean, with a push to get rid of as many permanent employees and possible, replacing with temps. The organization creates a "cubicle" style of work, where employees are expected to do exactly the instruction within their job operating procedure - but not know, understand or act on anything that falls outside that designated range. For those that were with better organizations before being taken over by Pactiv, it is a huge adjustment. Pactiv does not make it easy to love or care about your job and they do not acknowledge those who do - really discouraging. The problem lies with middle and lower management throughout the company who have been beat up by this philosophy over time and accept and perpetuate the abuse. Several reviews indicate that they pay well, but when they took over the previous organization they basically reduced some of our gross pay by 15%, so in my case I can't agree with this statement. Many middle managers don't leave the company so maybe they pay well for certain regions. Not sure.
