Pros

Unlimited vacation There are some genuine people here that actually follow the rules and assist when they can Onsite location was amazing and liked everyone I worked with My boss was cool but you could tell his hands were tied and couldn't hold lazy employees accountable

Cons

Parasol presents itself as "one big family", but my experience did not reflect that image. During training, we were told, “If you need help, just ask in chat and someone will assist you.” Unfortunately, this was rarely the case. Once training ended, support was minimal, and it was often difficult to get assistance from supervisors or managers. For example, I once had an onsite outage that lasted several hours without any guidance from leadership. Network engineers were so overextended that even when help was available, they often needed significant time just to review documentation and understand a client’s setup. As a help desk technician, access is extremely limited, which means you’re dependent on others who may be overwhelmed with their own responsibilities. If they’re unavailable or not actively monitoring communication channels, resolving issues becomes nearly impossible. Over time, this lack of support feels discouraging, and unfortunately, it is the client who ultimately suffers. Parasol continues to expand and onboard new clients despite having insufficient documentation for many existing ones - can't stress this enough. I’ll never forget when during the onboarding of a large multi-building client, the COO said something along the lines of: “I know we don’t have documentation, but create it as you go and everything will be fine.” Considering that every site Parasol manages is configured differently, hearing that from someone at the executive level was alarming. Additionally, accountability within the team was lacking. Some technicians contributed very little without consequence, creating further strain on those who were actively working. Finally, when I attempted to roll over my 401k, Parasol transferred it to IPX, closed the account, and left me dealing with a frustrating and unresponsive third party.

Pros

Great flexibility of work, knowledgeable colleagues, and overall good work environment.

Cons

One area for improvement is workplace flexibility. While many employees have the opportunity to work remotely or in a hybrid capacity, positions designated as fully on-site may have limited flexibility if business needs change. When an on-site role is no longer required, employees may not always have the opportunity to transition into a remote or hybrid position within the organization. Exploring internal placement or flexible work options, when feasible, could help retain experienced employees and preserve valuable institutional knowledge.
