Pros

A good first job out of college if you can manage it, teaches you a lot and you’ll definitely learn to work non stop. Take a chance and accept if you need to, but never stop applying for new jobs even when things are going well, you’ll thank yourself.

Cons

This position is kind of like the lottery, you could make some great money, but instead of just losing, the other side is usually spiraling depression and never feeling any job security even if you’ve been with the company 10 years. Most reps last 6 months on average, the turnover even in management and VP positions is really unheard of, and it really feels like a constant panic attack the entire time. I remember being told my first week that I would be fired if I didn’t make enough appointments. Chad is trying to hit very aggressive sales numbers the next couple of years in order to vest a couple billion and doesn’t really care how he gets there. Their strategy the past years really seems like they prey on new grads, work them to the bone to make a sale, then throw them away. This job really is 90% cold calling people who have already talked to 3-4 paycom reps that sat in your same seat before leaving or getting fired. Throughout my few years here I saw roughly 15-20 reps get fired or leave in my office alone. Overall some advice would be not to sign a lease or move to a new city just for this job, you will never feel secure and always feel like you might lose your job next week. This really shouldn’t be your career, maybe make some money here if you can but always have a backup plan and don’t drink the Green Kool Aid.

Pros

- training that will improve your skill - become better at fear management (fight mode is real)

Cons

- you will be threated to be fired- many many times (even if you work extremely hard) - your hard work is not valued- unreasonable expectations - there is not benchmark of success- goal always moves out of reach - no support, managers are more worried about not being fired than helping you
