Pros

This company hires you immediately as an inside sales rep as opposed to starting out as a BDR role first and puts you through a 2 month training process.

Cons

This role is about 10% sales and 90% account management after you make a sale. You will not get paid commissions until after a client processes payroll multiple times. If the client decides to leave Paycom before 6 months. Your commission will have to be paid back. This role is underpaid for the work that is done relative to others in the industry. Only around 10% of employees hit their annual quota. Company also fired around 20-30% of their inside sales force very recently and despite them immediately restructuring the leads, they refuse to acknowledge this as a layoff as business has not been booming as they expected. What this means for the terminated employees is no severance, and likely no ability to receive unemployment benefits.

Pros

When I first started at Paycom, it was great! They were all about the employees and making sure we were truly a family and it made coming to work so great. The benefits are what kept me there for so long tbh.

Cons

Massive layoffs with 0 explanations, they fired women for getting pregnant (told them the could go on leave…and then fired them after they submitted their packets to literally go give birth), they changed the PTO payout policy and forced everyone to sign it or else they were fired, there was 0 trust in management, if you’re not a part of the cool kids club…you’re ostracized. This place will drain you if everything. Who you are will change and be damaged from working here. This company gave me PTSD and the C-level individual who I worked for was AWFUL. I’ve never been so mistreated and spoken down to in my life….but hey, the pay was good I guess. Just know what you’re getting into!
