Pros
Great educational opportunities: certification discounts, free CECs through IDEA Fit, education stipend reimbursement ($250-$1500), tons of in-house educational courses that are fitness related, nutrition, management related, etc. There are some great people to work with who are fun and supportive. Vacation accrual good.
Cons
Little opportunity for advancement after the AGM level. Pay is not that great. I don't know how management expects to recruit employees with a college degree to fill Exercise Specialist roles that only pay $15/hour. Matching 401k would be a nice addition. Health insurance is pricey. Salary does not take cost of living into consideration. What someone is paid in North Dakota is what a comparable position in New York is paid. Few holidays. Some corporate fitness sites are better than others! Some sites are more restrictive than others, depending upon culture and liaison of site.
