      Pros

      If you're looking for an opportunity to wear many hats as you begin your fitness career in order to narrow down what you really want to do, then this is the role for you. You get the opportunity to coordinate events, train clients, teach classes, deliver presentations to members, practice motivational interviewing and biometric health screening, and pursue higher education provided by Plus One. You have access to a workout library as well as various online educational videos courtesy of IDEA World. Depending on the site, you may also wear the hat of locker room/towel attendant, which was fine with me. Great team environment as well!

      Cons

      Pay, although competitive with commercial fitness industry, is low. It's the most common reason that people left our site to pursue a new opportunity.

      Work life balance with generous PTO and client holidays. Autonomy provided in position.

      Poor merit increases, no increases to match inflation, lack of improvements or advancements, management lacks vision to progress in meeting client needs
