Pros

- Middle management is mostly results focused and avoid micromanagement - Promotions happen fairly regularly - Modern tech

Cons

- Response from the company on Glassdoor about RTO isn't truthful. One response from a company rep below says they "have been clear that we are an office-based culture and would return when it was safe to do so". This is less misleading and more an outright fabrication. Priceline introduced a "five day flex" policy in 2021, and internal documents up to at least December 2023 indicated that this policy was intended to be permanent. These documents also stated, "we have not been a 'face time' culture and will not become one in this new era." This kind of distortion reflects the reality of top-down communication at Priceline. - The decision to eliminate the policy wasn't based on any metrics that leadership chose to share with employees. When asked about the metrics behind the decision, they essentially responded with, "we don’t have any." - The policy rollout was chaotic and poorly executed. I have heard of other companies rolling out RTO for employees within a certain commuting radius. This did not happen here. Employees with 5-8 hour commutes were not exempt from the policy and HR was ruthless in its enforcement. Despite what company reps may say here, there are (were) plenty of employees outside a reasonable commute distance. In my experience, many employees viewed this as a "soft layoff." Additionally, there was an official layoff of 7%, which included the dismissal of people that had been working there for almost 20 years. This reflects the broader attitude of leadership towards employees.

Thanks for sharing your perspective. We’d like to provide some clarification on the points you raised. When we introduced our five day flex policy in 2021, it was a response to the unique circumstances of the pandemic. However, as the situation evolved, so did our policies. The transition to a hybrid work model (3 days remote, 2 days in office) was made after careful consideration of several factors, including the need for improved execution, collaboration, and communication across departments. We provided ample notice and support to help employees transition smoothly, and worked with those who needed additional time to adapt to the new working model. Employees who were previously approved to work remotely retained that status. We understand that changes in policy can be challenging. We value each team member and understand that some may choose to pursue new opportunities if they decide a fully remote job aligns better with their needs.

Pros

- Back to office minimum is 2 days a week which in NY is very good - Solid and stable company, lean and profitable in Booking Holdings - Opportunity to work on many topics - Good culture amongst peers and colleagues. I've found people very helpful and collaborative. - daily catered lunch in office

Cons

- Being lean means prioritizing ruthlessly, so sometimes initiatives will have to go the backlog - I did find that a lot of people take on more than their JD (there's amazing accountability), which also means that people can be very busy.

Thanks for the thoughtful review! We’re glad to hear you’re enjoying the flexibility of our hybrid model, the collaborative culture, and the opportunity to work across a broad range of projects. You’re right that we operate with a lean approach - it’s something we monitor closely to make sure teams have what they need to succeed. We ask teams to stay focused on the work that will have the biggest impact, and that sometimes means making tough prioritization decisions. If day-to-day priorities ever feel unclear, we encourage employees to partner with their Manager to help align on focus areas and impact. Thanks again for the feedback and for being part of the Priceline team!

Pros

Some teams support their employees and work on interesting projects.

Cons

Do not work for this company. My boss was so incompetent and unable to use techonology, she falsified PIP paperwork using a chronic health disability while lying that I did not complete my work -- in an attempt to fire me so people would not be able to see how poorly she understands the field of technology. Unforunta3ely for her, AI has adigital footprint when she realized she was caught and there was proof she was lying she fired me to cover it up. Long story short is I won the battle and would adivise anyone and everyone interested in technology or working for a company that has checks and balances on incompetent managers DO NOT WORK FOR THIS COMPANY.
