Pros

The people at Region 4 are fabulous. My coworkers were passionate, smart, and incredible at their jobs. It was an honor to work with them. The benefits package also is quite good.

Cons

Upper management is awful. Led by Dr. Rodney Watson (Dr. Pam Wells retired several years ago), they’re getting rid of good people and are no longer promoting from within. They’re actively demoting people, actually, but not the ones who deserve it. Their current message to employees is that they’re raising the bar and don’t expect some to meet it. Meanwhile, folks are doing more work with fewer resources, there’s no meaningful remote work policy, and they act like employees should just shut up and be thankful they order fajitas once a quarter. They can insist all they want that it’s just growing pains, but it’s been three years; at this point, it’s just the normal, disappointing state of affairs. And all of this really is a shame because the organization does extremely important work. Kids and teachers deserve the world. But I wouldn’t recommend working here to anyone right now.

The level of professional respect is second to none. I have grown and developed personally and professionally.

Cons

None to note at this point.

Pros

Salary and benefits are good.

Cons

Culture changed so much in the past two years since Dr. Watson took over that it isn’t the same place. New hires are incompetent and can’t support the districts. Micromanagement to an extreme.
