Pros

It’s a job that pays you something.

Cons

I’d like to paint a picture for you. It’s February 13th 2024, there’s a snowstorm in New Jersey. Instead of allowing their employees to work from home, they would rather implement a 2 hour day and if you can’t make it in, you have to use a PTO. They rather micromanage us employees so much, in the office, that instead of us assisting customers and making the company money by placing orders and closing deals, that they rather the employees sit home using PTO instead. I’d like someone in HR to explain why you so badly need to micromanage grown adults. Looking for a new job as I type this. Get your priorities right, and someone in the company should answer for this.

Pros

This may be a good place to start in order to gain experience in the industry at the entry level. Beyond that it should be a stepping stone.

Cons

The Glassdoor numbers say a lot. Only 50% of the people who work here would recommend to a friend or colleague. In school, 70% is 1% away from failure. SHI is 20% below failure. To add, 53% of the people who work here have a negative outlook on the company's future. That seems like a trend in the wrong direction. If your career is an investment in your life, that needs to be considered before investing a career into SHI.
