Pros

County Offices of Education has resources which they invest into support specialists, and a fairly young and thoughtful team. The kids are great. The locations are clean. Great place to charge car (assuming you can afford one) is at their County Office.

Cons

MY STORY: I started as an intern teacher. Finished that. SJCOE runs it's own credential clearing program through San Joaquin Teachers College but apparentlt is one of the only employers that wants it's OWN teachers to pay for clearing their credential, all while claiming that they want to "retain teachers." Yawn. They have a high turn-over rate, for reasons like this, and their lack of communication makes teachers feel like they aren't supported. So teachers move on. This isn't unheard of and happens many places. Lack of communication amongst team members and administration. SJCOE attempts to build and maintain large "systems" within the workplace but have poor attention to detail in regards to said systems.
