      Pros

      Good work/life balance in some groups. Good seminars series talks if you like science.

      Cons

      Management is really bad in defining project scope. No room for growth. Salaries are very low for the Bay Area especially if you have family of 4. It barely cover rent and kids school.. No bonuses or reward for good performance. Smart, passionate and excellent people leave because they are not happy.
