      Stanford benefits. Interesting work. Smart scientists and engineers as colleagues. If you want to do big science related to synchrotrons, free electron lasers or large telescopes, come.

      Cons

      Cost of living in the area. Bureaucracy. Massive layoff happened before when lab transitioned from particle physics to photon physics and astro.
