Pros

Looks good on resume. CSR in retail is an assistant manager from the start. You get a key on the first day and quickly learn opening and closing procedures. You can leave everyday feeling like you have accomplished many things throughout your day. Nights and most Sundays are also free

Cons

The pay and the hours. Making the pay of a CSR while you are often asked to be the acting manager is a bunch of crap. When the shop manager, if there is one, takes a vacation you are the shop manager having to run the place and make the decisions. You are held accountable for making sure all of the technicians jobs get scheduled and completed, all of the shops inventory and supplies. You get bossed around by people in the corporate office that stare at a computer screen worrying about hitting budget while there can be absolute madness going on. Also Cust Service reps are the only ones without a paid vehicle and gas miles. So if you are told you are getting transferred, and you have to go to keep your job, the wear and tear on your vehicle is all on you

Pros

Tons of extra overtime pay, opportunity for your pay to change by 5 or 10 percent in either direction twice a year, completely free from corporate communication, bonuses will be held and never paid out so you dont have to worry about saving it yourself! Cheers to the belron "thank you" (more like a belron "screw you") they gave us years ago and I never saw a dime of before I left.

Cons

Surprise! Six day weeks. Maybe 7 we dont know. Whoops all loaned out to other shops, little to no warning or planning You dont matter to anyone in your chain of command They want you to feel like you can talk to them.. but not to actually do it. No follow up from management, everything is out of their hands and yadda yadda yadda
