Pros
This could be good or bad, but most forms, human resource activities can be done through online vehicles instead of paper forms. HR and back-end people are responsive and spread throughout the U.S. to cover several timezones.
Cons
Salient like a lot of beltway bandits, has no "bench" policy, does not train its employees unless absolutely necessary to "get" or "keep" a contract. Offers primarly a high-deductible health plan ($$$ out of your pocket), and like others over the years offers small amounts of PTO. They have "Salient University" and even though the cost is minimal, it seems very difficult to get a seat. This may be particular to my sub-organization.
