Pros

I worked at the only profitable BU in the company. Our on site leadership was FANTASTIC, and I can honestly say I grew to love my work family at my BU. Extremely intelligent, talented, and capable leaders in that office. Corporate just can’t seem to leave well enough alone.

Cons

LAZY HR department, refusing to promote because “it would be a lot of paperwork.” Recently slashed pay for recruiters in my office by 60% while bringing the “good old boys” from GDIT on at our old rate. I was encouraged to resign by an HR representative several times. I was fired when I refused to accept the decrease in pay/demotion, and when I had questions about my final paycheck I was completely ignored by the same HR rep. I was the top performing recruiter in the company for nearly a year, and our office was the only office meeting objectives on a regular basis- so to demote and slash our pay without warning was a huge slap in the face. The fact that this company refers to themselves as agile is a complete joke. I had a government customer requesting a fill in the Virgin Islands, and our HR department asked if one billet was “worth it,” because this would be a lot of administrative work.... I was floored. It took me several weeks of fighting with HR to get this location added to our ATS so I could recruit on it. In what world is it okay to avoid doing what your customer is asking of you, simply because it’s a lot of administrative work? My final pay check today was short $2,700- and recently they’ve put a stop payment on checks for my coworkers without warning or reason. If you’re considering working for OR with this company, I would encourage you to reconsider. The things I’ve listed here are really just the tip of the ice berg. Oh, and about a year and a half ago- Salient CRGT ran an internal campaign asking employees to leave positive reviews on Glass Door. Recruiters were told if we left positive reviews it would make it easier on us to recruit, so take the positive reviews on here with a grain of salt.

Pros

Salary is pretty decent in the relative sense.

Cons

Careless with its employee's sensitive data. Last month, Salient CRGT compromised the Social Security Numbers of over 1,000 current and former employees. They did so by sending an email with an Excel attachment containing individual employee's names, SSNs, home addresses, salaries, etc. to an unknown individual. The excel file was not password protected and the email was not encrypted. As long as they are growing, they are fast and loose with protocols and procedures. Highly doubtful that they have a data governance policy or any QA/Compliance processes in place to prevent this sort of this from happening. This is a cutting-edge, IT consulting firm (e.g., cyber security), that manually sent critical PII without any protections to an unknown source. Body shop with little interest in its client facing employees. Average to below average benefits.

Pros

Typical federal contracting company. Nothing really stand out. Actually lost benefits and perks after merger.

Cons

They "merged" (truthfully not a merger, a total acquisition), with my employer CRGT and I was laid off. But they kept an HR person so monumentally stupid, that when he/she read an email "from the CEO" requesting all employee personal info (why would that ever happen? it wouldn't), he/she just sent all of it without hesitation. Isn't confidentiality a cornerstone of HR policies? Now I have become the victim of identity theft. Someone else has submitted an income tax return under my info and I have to hustle and scatter to contact every government body under the sun (including but not limited to FTC, Social Security Admin, my Bank, State Attorney General, Credit bureaus, state tax agency, file a police report, and so on). I bet this person still has their job too. But I don't have mine.
