Pros

Depending on which location you work at the atmosphere can feel like a second family. They'll ask how your day is going and help you if you're struggling. I was privileged to be trained by one of their best assistants who after almost 10 years there needs to be rewarded an office manager position already. If you're able to build a good relationship with your clients and arborists you'll often be rewarded outside of work with personal gifts during holidays which is always nice. I would also like to add that the district manager is amazing and takes his time to get to know all of his employees.

Cons

Pay is pretty crappy compared to the area. Okay if you don't have a college degree and little to no bills to pay but if you have student loans you're not going to be able to pay them on this salary. During the pandemic, we were still required to come in even though our positions could've been made 100% remote with the aid of laptops. After switching offices I learned that the company dynamic varies drastically from office to office. At one point I managed over 6 arborists for over half a year and I only received a 5 cent pay raise during my review. When I questioned management they said it wasn't in their budget to give me more but then they asked me to take on more responsibilities even though I was already working 50-60 hour work weeks. Meanwhile, other employees were caught stealing, huffing paint, calling out sick all the time as well as doing other drugs in the shop but they were never reprimanded. Accidents were rarely reported. You would also be made to feel extremely guilty for using your vacation or sick days. They'll try to talk you out of using them. While it is easy to transfer from roll to roll within the branch it is difficult to go from working in a branch office location to a corporate office.
