Safety is actually first

Pros

The company prioritizes safety and professionalism and concerns are taken very seriously. The people who actually matter seem to genuinely care about their work. There will be variation among locations and individual circumstances at any large company, so I would be very hesitant to judge the company based on a few peoples bad experiences.

Cons

There is a shortage of motivated and/or qualified employees in the green industry in general and that can cause the typical pressures on the good ones and it also can cause increased hiring of “bad apples”. If you are not interested in advancing your career in and being a part of the tree care industry, you will probably not succeed in the industry in general. Its more than just a job.

Thank you for offering such thoughtful and balanced feedback. We appreciate your long term commitment and your recognition of the priority we place on safety, professionalism, and taking employee concerns seriously. Your acknowledgment that experiences can vary by location is an important perspective and reflects the complexity of a large and diverse organization. While retention is always a top priority, developing the future of the industry is equally important. We need to retain our proven, high performing climbers because they deliver immediate value and set the standard for safety and quality. At the same time, we have a responsibility to build the next generation by investing in structured training that helps less experienced team members gain skills and progress confidently. Striking that balance strengthens our pipeline, protects our operational readiness, and positions the organization for long term success. Thank you for reinforcing that success in this field requires genuine interest, skill development, and long term commitment. We value your continued contributions and your focus on elevating the profession.

Pros

They bait you with lies and make promises they don't abide by and then basically says "well then you can quit"

Cons

I can not believe that a company like this would bait you in like this and then after you resign from you former company tell you oh well. Now your basically stuck and either have to deal with it or leave with nothing and have to start all over. Most unprofessional company I have EVER dealt with in my 25 yrs in the industry. When you file a complaint with HR thinking they will be professional they then stab you in the back and tell you direct report that you filed the complaint and then they retaliate against you and make you look like you have done something wrong, it is just unbelievable!! PLEASE FOR GOD SAKES do not put yourself through the pain of dealing with this company.

Never seen such high turn over

Pros

The branches have such camaraderie and become like a family over time.

Cons

The turn over with this company is unreal, I have never seen this with any other company I have worked for. It is understandable that the field position have turn over but the Corporate Office is a joke. Don't bother getting to know the HR department because its likely that those people won't be there in a few months. How can you establish integrity and confidence if the HR department is constantly changing. It makes it very hard for me to trust and want to work with them, so most of the time you find branches just doing the work on their own. The Accounting Department is another sad story. I have had vendors complain to me that they never know who they will be dealing with because of the high turnover. This again causes distrust and lost confidence in the company. The CFO is out of line with the way he talks to and treats people. I have heard too many complaints about him to list. I cannot understand how such a vile person gets away with the things he does and question how he is still employed. There appear to be no morals or values there.
