Pros
Best team I've worked with. Fast-growing company means lots of opportunities to contribute and learn.
Cons
You should expect when you come to Scale that this isn't your standard 9-to-5 job, and that's fine. However, especially for those on the supply team who may be put on very intensive projects, they can be expected to put in 80-100 hours per week. Most of these employees are also contractors and not full time employees; without a good support system or benefits, they experience a lot of burnout. Moreover, if you are deciding to work at Scale or not, really dig into your ethics. You should know that Scale, like many other data labeling companies, draws most of its labor from the global South and pays them extremely depressed rates. Internally, I did not feel that Scale cared about these workers at all. They were viewed as truly expendable commodities by upper management. Extreme lack of diversity. I was really happy that recruiting worked hard on recruiting diverse candidates, but if hiring managers don't care about diversity, no change will happen.
