Pros

Fully remote, cell phone paid for I stayed because they were flexible and the devil you know is better than the devil you don’t. The people I worked with on my immediate team were great. I’m very glad I’m not with the company anymore.

Cons

The big software that they tout will be able to scale the business is poorly built. Doing research on how clients are using it (or in reality not using it) and doing 1-on-1 interviews to fully understand how they as a business owner would use it opened my eyes that these big numbers and valuations of what the company will be worth if they hit 100,000 clients will never happen. They tout thousands of clients but so many of them are just franchise locations that didn’t even have a say in having their website built by Scorpion and don’t pay for any additional services. They’ve been in business for twenty years and only work with service based companies. At what point have they reached out to all the prospects or how many businesses in the same profession can they ethically do the marketing for in the same territory? Especially with franchises there really are so few that don’t need any e-commerce on their website. When I first started it was just owned by one guy. For better or worse he could do what he wanted and steer the company in that direction. Once he sold part of it to an investment company, pleasing the overlords became the undercurrent to deciding which metrics needed to be worked on the most. I’m not sure there’s another job where working somewhere for four years without a raise is normal.

Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We're glad you had a supportive team and appreciated the flexibility in your role, though we’re sorry to hear that other aspects didn’t reflect the workplace we strive to create. Your feedback about our software, client relationships—especially within franchise models—and long-term scalability is valuable. We’re continuing to evolve the platform based on input from both clients and internal teams to better meet the real-world needs of the businesses we serve. We also recognize your concerns around the company’s direction. As we grow, our focus remains on delivering lasting client value and aligning our strategy with long-term success. On compensation, we know how important it is for people to feel recognized and rewarded for their contributions. It’s something we’re actively working to improve across the board, and your feedback is a helpful reminder of why that matters. Thanks again for your candor and the time you spent at Scorpion. Please feel free to reach out to me at AmyL@scorpion.co if you’d be willing to continue this conversation. If not, we appreciate your contributions and wish you all the best in what’s ahead.

Pros

I think it is so easy to criticize a company as innovative and forward-looking as Scorpion. It’s easy to lose sight of what it means to be working for a real visionary in the industry. There is no one else in this entire space who is even thinking the way that the CEO and other executive leaders are. If being the best possible solution for the types of businesses this company serves isn’t for you, there are plenty of smaller companies that don’t do any of this revolutionary stuff you can go work for.

Cons

Yes, tools break and people make mistakes. But they also get fixed and people do listen.

Hey! Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We truly appreciate your recognition of your coworkers, leadership team, and the technology. We’re certainly proud of the people and tools that power what we do. At the same time, we hear your concerns around sales opportunities, support, and what it takes to succeed here. That’s important feedback. Our goal is always to foster career development by empowering employees to explore growth opportunities within their roles, and peer learning is a big part of that, along with support through feedback, performance goals, and clear career paths. But it’s clear from your experience that we don’t always get this right, and that’s something we continue to work on. We also take concerns around fairness and access to opportunities seriously. Sales is a challenging environment, and consistent access to the right resources, whether that’s leads, events, or support, plays a big role in setting people up for success. Creating a more level playing field across the team is something we’re continuously evaluating and working to improve. Thank you for raising your concerns around the lack of opportunities here. We are determined to get this feedback into the right hands. We understand this was a lot to put into words, and we appreciate the time you took to provide this perspective, as it helps us continue refining how we support our sales teams and create more consistent paths to success. If you’d be willing to continue the conversation, I’d be happy to hear more about your experience. Please feel free to reach out to me at AmyL@scorpion.co. In the meantime, I and the rest of Scorpion wish you all the best in your next endeavors.
