Pros
Nice coworkers on nights, challenging, extremely critical care. I learned a lot. There is always overtime and if you love patient care you will love this job.
Cons
Huge turnover in staff. 6 ltac patients at a time. Paper charting. Not enough nursing aides ever. Extremely heavy lifting and you can have as many isolation patients as they want to assign you. my last week there i had 6 patients, 3 unstable traches all in isolation. VERY UNSAFE WORKING CONDITIONS. you are not notified of mistakes. I was fired and the nursing board is investigating my license for pulling 2 patients meds out of the pixis at a time, which was a common and necessary practice in that place. I would look elsewhere. The current manager the manager appears to be trying to climb some corporate ladder she isn't concerned for you or the patients. I regret working at this job.
