Pros

There are no pros to working at HIIG unless you are desperate for a paycheck. I took this job because there wasn't anything else available at that time. And, I was lied to in the interview about benefits.

Cons

This company will beat you down. All the negative reviews are true. No bonus, no 401k contribution, micro managed about bathroom breaks, lid on cup like a toddler, no cell phones, no pictures on the walls, mgmt. berates staff like we are insolent children, and mgmt. will dock your timesheet if you are away from your desk "too long", no holiday celebration or decorations, oh wait, they have a timed two hour buffet with an open bar at a Mexican restaurant and that is your year end bonus. HIIG does not care for the emotional or physical health and well being of staff. My department has 9 staff member turnover in a total of 4 available positions in a year and a half. That speaks for itself.

Pros

The company and culture at Skyward Specialty Insurance is outstanding and by far my favorite over the course of my career.

Cons

My only con would be that although the benefits package overall is good, the medical coverage this year was not as favorable as in past years.

Pros

Compensation is fine and benefits are fine.

Cons

Management practices dictatorship. IT managers do NOT understand IT. They are technically very poor. Off shore contractors just fool them and they are willing to be ridiculed by them. They emphasize on overworking. Politics at its peak. Directors have rude behavior. They do not provide any training, just shooting in the air. Most of the calls happen after office hours. There are weekend releases so your Friday evenings and Saturday mornings are destroyed. No reward, no bonus. They have a system called Clockify where you have to justify every second of your work.
