Pros

Pay was decent, they give you free food for holidays, holidays are decent but they took 1 away for the past 2 years meaning 2 less for 2016 than 2014

Cons

There is a high level of unprofessionalism throughout the organization. No one is ever held accountable so they always find a scapegoat below them that they hold accountable. I asked many questions during the interview process about culture and nothing I was told was true. After about a month of working there, I soon realized that nothing was true that I was sold on. There is no teamwork and the culture is crazy and there are a lot of back stabbers. I have never been in a place where there is such a high concentration of this type of attitude and upper management ignores it. The systems are very bad too; they have way too many. I think turnover has decreased, but mainly due to the bad job market in Houston. I know people that have been looking for something different for the past 6 months, and they are still searching for a different job. I have a few friends that talked to the recruiters that placed them here and the recruiters no longer work with HIIG due to the experiences many of their candidates experienced.

Pros

Can't think of a Pro other than a few co-workers that have become friends.

Cons

So many...no raises, no bonuses, horrific benefits package (Sick time & vacation is earned) if you or your children get sick, there goes your vacation; even though we average 55 to 60 hour a week we get no extra time off. the long hours are caused by unorganized leadership leadership, especially in accounting. The CAO is the worst, over the past 12 months she has had a 100% employee turnover and I am in the process. The culture is distrusting, employees have no say in anything. So many childish rules made by the CEO. Employees are not appreciated and there is clearly a power struggle within leadership, which makes the environment even worse.

Pros

Few areas of Company have team players and are willing to go out of their way to help employees - IT, Travel, Facilities and HR.

Cons

Cons really out weigh all the pros. Most unethical work place and it starts at the top. Unless you are willing to work like a robot or machine, and not wanting to have quality of life then this is the place for. People are not leaving because they cannot keep up with the fast paced environment or growth. They are leaving because management is two-faced and rolls everyone under the bus rather than taking accountability for their own opportunities, errors, lack of training. New hires are thrown into the position without training or coaching and expect to know what they are supposed to be working on. Then there is LACK OF COMMUNICATION - I can keep on going but this Company is not worth the time. I would just say think twice before accepting the position you will end up regretting it!! Few good reviews you have read are put in by the upper management so don't be fooled!! They have been asking all employees to go online and put positive reviews - what a joke!!!
