Pros

Good pay Good benefits Good work life balance Exciting technology Stock price has been on great upward run Good place if you can be obsequious to your insecure boss

Cons

As other posters have mentioned, senior management (definitely not leaders) revolving door over past four years has been quite damaging to morale. In the past Splunk had a very unique employee focused culture. This can be a good thing if managed well. Top talent will stick around and be motivated etc. On the flip side, it could be argued that, historically, the culture leaned a little too much toward the employee leading to a lot of long term employees feeling entitled and basically phoning it in. Many employees have been resistant to change and incumbent managers that were promoted into management by their friends as the company grew really did not know how to manage people resulting in a laissez faire organizational culture in many departments. To address this, in came the autocrats. They've been inclined to throw the baby out with the bathwater. They know better than everybody else, they've read their management books and they don't need to listen to anybody else. They will only promote or hire "yes men/women" and will not tolerate their views to be challenged. "My way or the highway". Personally, I choose the highway, I choose to leave my toxic manager for the sake of my happiness and well-being and I have no regrets. Some of the toxic managers have since "left". Some are still around blowing their own horn and spreading havoc while claiming success. (remind you of anybody?) Good employees are leaving in droves despite the great stock run.

Pros

- Excellent work life balance and competitive compensation. - Strong benefits and talented, supportive colleagues. - Industry leading technology with an established brand. - Opportunity to work with large enterprise customers and travel when needed.

Cons

- Since the Cisco acquisition, leadership quality and sales execution have noticeably declined. The culture has shifted from customer success to excessive focus on spreadsheets, dashboards, and internal metrics. - Internal politics and favoritism have become increasingly apparent, creating inconsistent opportunities across territories and reps. - The Splunk / Cisco integration remains fragmented. Sales motions, product positioning, and incentives are not aligned, making it difficult to execute effectively. - Cisco sellers are still not consistently incentivized to sell Splunk, creating unnecessary friction between teams. - Lack of experienced SE resources makes running successful PoCs difficult and slows sales cycles. - Account Executives are increasingly treated like overlays rather than owners of their business. - Product innovation has slowed, with a greater emphasis on packaging and licensing changes instead of meaningful platform improvements, while competitors like CrowdStrike and Palo Alto Networks continue to execute aggressively.
