Pros
I have been working at St. Ann's for almost five years. It is large enough that we can enjoy great benefits, but small enough that the work environment is close and family-like. There are many opportunities for growth within. There is an excellent tuition reimbursement program and an employee scholarship program to assist with on-going education. I feel that my opinion carries weight and is valued by leadership. There are many fun events for staff - holiday parties, employee picnics, employee and family carnival, and more, as well as a great recognition program. There are many opportunities for non-caregivers to engage with residents.
Cons
Each opportunity is what you make of it. Sure, there will always be challenges in every workplace, but the appreciation and kindness I have experienced here from residents, family members, peers, and leaders have far outweighed any challenges that have come my way.
