Pros

They will work with you around a college schedule for the most part. 5% discount in store. this is a Union job. a week paid vacation after one year. time and a half paid on sundays and holidays

Cons

Starting pay is minimum wage for the first year. Goes up by only 25 cents a year. Need to work for two whole years before given any medical/ or other benefits. Part timers have no guaranteed salary. One week you could work 15 hours, the next you could work 28, there's no way to know if you will make any real money or not. You never have the same schedule. Schedule is posted by 3pm on fridays for the following week. Not easy to plan your life. They feel it is ok to persuade you to work extra hours when someone else doesnt show up. They also feel it is ok to tell you that you have to come in on your day off. The job is unionized, but if you call the union for any help or advice, they take at least a month to call you back, or dont call you back at all. Union dues are taken out of your pay every week, which is sad when the union hardly does anything for the employees. In most cases, workers are NOT provided with proper protective equipment like they are supposed to be. Frozen clerks that work in the freezers are not given freezer jackets or shoes like they are supposed to get. People working outside in freezing weather pushing carts are not given jackets either.

Overall the store is a good place to start off.

The pay is low but that is why it is best to have it has a job for a beginner

Pros

Nice people sometimes, when your coworkers aren’t 50 year old men leering at you while you work.

Cons

Horrible management. Rude, condescending tones, incredibly cruel!
