Pros

Work / life balance. No micromanaging

Cons

Greedy. Lack of legitimate raises or promotional opportunities since merger. Have been working remote since March and they are still "discussing" monthly stipends and the current response is we "should" see remote work stipends in 2021. Weekly meals and all associated perks of an office that you see as a constant pro on this website were stripped from us and we have seen nothing to make up for it. Our financial goals are beat every month but we don't see any raises. We were told merit increases were happening but after talking to peers I found out some people were given none, and most people were given a raise of less than $5,000. I talked to one person who got a $2,000 raise, and another person who said their entire department is not getting any annual raises. Keep in mind this is all happening as we continue to shell out millions on new acquisitions, and are subjected to weekly meetings telling us how we are absolutely crushing our financial goals.

Storable Response

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We are sincerely troubled by the perception that you believe greed is somehow part of our strategy. Our first stipend went out at the end of August. And yes, the POps and Finance teams are working diligently on how that evolves in conjunction with many other employee-focused perks and initiatives for the months and years ahead. That takes time. Much of the employee experience work had started in the first quarter of this year but had to be put on hold when the pandemic started. Now that we’ve transitioned to a distributed work environment, we’ve been able to pick that back up plus add even more layers geared towards strengthening your experience as a Storrior, both fiscally as well as culturally. Storable has weathered five months of this historic economic disruption and we know our cautious approach has frustrated some of our employees. Our intent has been to ensure stability and psychological safety alongside making long-term, scalable decisions that we can build with confidence, all with the employee in mind.

Pros

Strong onboarding experience and initial support from leadership Clear expectations and alignment during the first few months Positive, collaborative team environment early on Opportunity to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment Supportive culture prior to leadership changes

Cons

Significant decline in overall team experience after leadership transition Director stepped into the role without direct experience in the function, leading to gaps in effective management Leadership initially presented as supportive, but this did not reflect long-term behavior or management style Constant and frequent changes to priorities, expectations, and processes, creating instability and lack of structure Efforts to remain adaptable, positive, and supportive during ongoing changes felt taken advantage of rather than recognized Inconsistent and contradictory feedback — verbal feedback was consistently positive, while written documentation did not align Lack of clarity around performance expectations, making it difficult to understand what success looked like Noticeable shift in management behavior and communication over time, particularly toward the end of tenure Concerns around being managed out rather than being supported or developed Attempt to initiate a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) that broadly covered the entire scope of responsibilities, rather than specific, actionable areas for improvement Misalignment between day-to-day performance feedback and formal performance concerns raised Perceived favoritism toward newer team members, specifically white male employees Observed comments and behaviors that felt culturally insensitive, particularly in reference to offshore (India-based) team members, creating concerns around inclusivity and respect Overall lack of transparency, consistency, and equitable treatment in performance management
