Pros
-Discount -Free eye exam -Flexible schedule (depending on the manager)
Cons
-Horrible managers -No opportunity for raises -Little to no professionalism -Expect texts from managers at all hour of the night asking if you can cover shifts Overall, my experience with this company fluctuated. When I first started it was such a positive environment that was challenging yet fun! Everybody was treated fairly and the communications between manager and associates were great! After various changes in management, the way to the top became about who sucked up to the manager the most as opposed to who was performing and who was an overall better employee. It became a game of favoritism, thus the scheduling business (who got the hours with the most traffic, who got the most hours in general) depended on who the manager PERSONALLY favored, not who was the better seller or who did their job better... It became quite childish, and after two years of being with the company, I had to go. Once I put in my two weeks, my manager waisted no time in cutting my hours and leaving me with THREE hour shifts. Evidently such treatment resulted in me departing earlier than planned. My voice and frustrations did not matter, though I invested 2 whole years in this company and my performance led me to get promoted and obtain countless of offers to grow in the company. My leaving on my own, without ever being asked to resign resulted in my manager marking that I was "terminated". I'm thoroughly disappointed with the treatment that I and many who have worked in the center I worked at received. After two years of being in the Sunglasshut world, I did not want to leave on such note but the treatment I received left me with no choice. I was under such management for 8 months, not because I was happy but because I loved my job. Though it was part-time work while I was in school, I was invested.
