The pay isn't bad coming in but don't expect it to keep pace with inflation. And don't expect to be rewarded for top performance.
Cons
It's a reward-your-buddy atmosphere. Promotions, bonuses, and best work goes to those that are buds with the bosses. The climate of heavy politics in Senior Management makes it a climate where those that make the boss look good get rewarded and decisions that result in more real estate for your boss get rewarded. It's common for someone to be touted as the most incompetent at their job among the ranks then get promoted for failing at their job, completely, yet getting promoted for doing an extra side project that makes someone look good. Too many decisions made for political reasons and not on the basis of what's best for the company.
