Pros

Good working relationship between physicians and nurses. Lots of protocols that make taking care of the patient easier. Having enough supplies and getting what you need is not a problem. Staff throughout the building care about one another and the patients.

Cons

Never enough staff. New senior management will not allow use of agency, so regular staff are overworked on a regular basis. More and more regulatory compliance paperwork is being dumped on frontline staff, taking them away from patients. Feedback is always negative. Building is old and outdated - some units have duct tape holding counters, floors, and doors together. "Shared governance" is an illusion. Senior nursing leadership is entirely autocratic.
