Niche market that has a long cycle time to respond to lack of support and innovation. expensive to switch vendors so clients locked in for a while. The new CEO is cashing in on that.
Cons
Multiple rounds of deep layoffs (starting in a year of records new sales), in order to prop up the new CEO's ego and cash flow to Roper. Dropping many long term employees intending to replace with cheaper staff in an 'Innovation Center' that never happened because we couldn't find a sucker to take over a gutted engineering team. This led immediately to a toxic environment, outsourcing development due to entire teams being gutted, and inability to rehire competent staff. Company ratings understandably dropped way down to 2.1. Senior leadership says this is all just due to 'sour grapes' and 'resistance to change'. Behold a sudden spike to 3.8!
