New Culture of Chaos and Fear

Pros

Many of the previous good benefits have been stripped away, but the vacation policy is still above the norm. Company co-pay on insurance is fair. Some long term employees are highly invested in the company and sticking it out.

Cons

The new president installed by parent company is a wrecking ball. Started with layoffs in a year with record high numbers. And then followed that up with periodic firings of executives (admittedly some good and some bad) and others to bring in more buddies. This lead to re-orgs with mad scrambles for headcount from the remaining execs who are struggling to appear relevant without challenging the negative changes for fear of being the next in gallows. President has repeatedly suggested that HE is the new culture, and anyone uncomfortable should 'self-select' out of the company. Good people are starting to do just that. Claims of transparency are laughable at this point. The culture is one based on disrespect and fear.

A perfect example of corporate greed.

Pros

Direct coworkers are great! Flexible hours!

Cons

Management is a popularity contest. Management has no formal training. Keep your head down and keep quiet is strictly enforced. Outdated software and technologies are being advertised as cutting edge solutions. Corporate greed influences every action. Quality is an after thought to production. Pay isnt competitive with the national standard. People are awarded for being good looking or popular while the hardworkers get neglected. Educational advancement is discouraged. No transparency at all but constant claims of being transparent. Secrets, lies, coruption run rampet.

The "Pros" of this review are in fact true: coworkers are great and CBORD offers many of its employees remote and flexible work schedules, which is very generous. The "Cons" of this review are the opinions of that former employee and not everyone can accept or deal with change. Caution should be applied when commenting without facts to back up claims.

Management is planting positive reviews - don't be fooled

Pros

A few departments have hard-working people (at least those who have survived the layoffs over the last year). However, everyone is looking to jump from this sinking ship, so the good ones are leaving.

Cons

It is very apparent that upper management is planting positive reviews on here for prospective employees (and perhaps potential buyers). Anything with a rating higher than 2 stars, most likely has been planted by upper management. For example, we had a company meeting not that long ago (August 2017) where an employee brought up "How are we going to get decent employee prospects to come here, with such terrible reviews on places such as Glassdoor.com?" HR took the question and gave a canned spiel and then the very next day, there was a review posted on glassdoor.com (see Aug 2, 2017, titled "Seriously, it's a fine place to work"), that reiterates what HR said to us at the company meeting. Such a joke - who are they fooling? This company is circling the drain.

CBORD has undergone some new and significant changes in management and structure-it is true. The strategy of the company has changed and some choose not to align themselves with that change. Some believe they are no longer a good fit and we encourage them to look for other opportunities. There is understandable anxiety when change happens. The culture at CBORD encourages empowering employees to speak up and share information in a an honest, safe environment and being accountable.
