Pros

-Great coworkers. Folks work together very well, very diverse workforce, and "drama" is minimal. Lots of long-tenured people too, which is a good thing. -New president seems alright. Dan Park isn't as involved as Jim Hoefflin was with the company at large but describes himself as a product person, which is what CBORD needs. He does, however, promote assigning "stretch projects", which just translates to pressuring employees to go beyond their job description and pay grade without promotion/compensation. -Lots of employee appreciation and little tokens of recognition for milestones. They make an effort to keep a human connection with an increasingly remote workforce, which I always appreciated. -Benefits are quite good. Quality health insurance, annual wellness reimbursement, and EAP. 401k matching is average.

Cons

-The products aren't where they need to be in terms of promised features, AND prices are far above industry average. They charge a premium price for non-premium products. Sales, support, marketing, and CS are all fighting an uphill battle as a result, customers are resentful, and the product team is in a constant state of defensiveness. -Below average pay. Over the years, I held multiple positions at CBORD, and all of them paid below the going rate. Plenty of folks are asked to go above and beyond their job description without being rewarded for it. (Bonus: there's an emerging "do more with less" mindset, which sounds cool but really just means "We're cutting jobs, so get ready to do the work of 2 people with no additional compensation. Your sacrifice is invaluable...to the sales team's annual trip to Jamaica.") -Manager quality is highly variable. Some of my managers were true mentors and advocates for my growth. Others ranged from antisocial dictators to so hands-off that there was a noticeable disconnect with the team. Senior leadership tends to deflect or play dumb when asked difficult questions, and HR is a textbook case of being there to protect the company, not the employees. -Bad leaders are retained too long. Example: one manager had their entire team quit en masse, had poor relations with other teams, was eventually promoted to a high-up role, and still works at CBORD today. Long tenure tends to get mistaken for good performance.
