Not worth the discount - ASM- Assistant Store Manager Torrid Employee Review

Great boss and atmosphere to work in.

The location is small and the team is small

None, absolutely zero. This is a horrible company who doesn’t care about their employees.

I worked for Torrid for nearly 4 years. I worked my way up to a Key Holder and never made enough money to survive or cover my bills. This company will treat their employees so badly because all they care about is the money. I was verbally assaulted by a customer, they threatened to physically hurt me, and management didn’t care one bit and I was threatened to be reported to HR for “not handling the situation right.” I was scolded about being late to some of my shifts and was written up for it, being labeled as my final write up even though I had NEVER been written up before. All the other ladies that worked there were also late to shifts and they never were scolded or written up for it. At my particular location, we were without a store manager for months and when a new one came in, it felt like she wanted me out ASAP and had some vendetta against me. Please please please save yourself and your mental health and do not work for this horrible company. They care more about the customers and their checkbooks more than they care about the people who run the stores and company for them. I felt unwanted and even unsafe at times as I would be the only employee in the store in a huge public mall. This is a horrible, disgusting company, who claims to be inclusive for plus size, when they don’t even send anything above a size 24 in store. The price is outrageous and not worth it, and seems wrong
