Pros

In this ever-changing world, globalization, or the breakdown of international economic barriers and cultural spread, is a big reality. While people can talk both positively and negatively about this phenomenon, everyone can agree that the spread of technology and information is a big aspect in the growth of economies, productivity, and global welfare. The speed at which this happens is directly related to communication and language. Deciphering, understanding, and most of all translating our cultural differences make us more interconnected, and more equipped to transfer knowledge from one community to another. As a project manager at transperfect, I can feel my individual impact in this global process, which complements the significant amount of personal gain I get from the position, and gives a real practical meaning to the phrase, “making a difference in the world”. Think about your last full time job. When you woke up in the morning, did you ever ask yourself, “what is the point of my coming in to work today?”. There are few careers out there today for which there is an answer other than “to pay the bills”. A career at transperfect will not prompt this kind of thinking; the points here are clear. Your role in this company, your contribution and the skills and experience you gain are unparalleled in the industry, and rival those gained from other project management positions. On any given day I am entrusted with a variety of responsibilities related to real and exciting international projects. I communicate and work directly with people all over the world on a daily basis, organizing my time and planning my own day. My managers are always available to me, not only to instruct but to offer help and guidance at every step of the way. This is a learning position and one that is constantly evolving in tune not only with the growth of my own level of experience within the company, but with the world of international communications at large.

Cons

The job has its rewards and challenges like any other. Be prepared to immerse yourself in the material and work hard because in order to succeed you must be ready to absorb what you are taught and learn quickly to adapt.

Pros

The work isn't too tough. The people in the office are skilled and pleasant. There are decent benefits and you can work from home for 2 days.

Cons

The pay is bad. Decent for when you first start but raises are small and infrequent. Bonuses are even smaller and more infrequent. We were fully remote but slowly have been forced back into office for no good reason.
