High turnover / terrible pay / no room for advancement - Probation Officer Travis County, Texas Employee Review

Adult probation cannot keep people long-term due to incredibly low pay and no room for advancement. They refuse to credit new hires that have prior experience in the field and will start everyone out at $37,000/year. You can't get a raise until year two & five and both are still very low. Most everyone in the department (even managers) are forced to work a second job because the pay is so terrible.
