Great benefits, if you choose the highest tier options. Lower tier options are okay. Good leave options (if you choose highest tier options). If you care about stuff like academic or scholarly reputation, then it’s a great place. Especially if you put that above your worth as a human being and others worth as human beings.

Supervisors may or may not properly address time card needs. They WILL low ball your pay. They will come at you with the lowest tier pay option and tell you that “HR doesn’t negotiate.” Or that compensation doesn’t. Well, they do. Negotiate for what you deserve or decline the job. It won’t be worth it. It is known across CA that UC Davis low balls pay. Not all roles are union represented and if you are not represented, prepare to be treated however they see fit. They look to external businesses to solve their internal problems.
