Pros

Virtru's explosive growth from 2018 has slowed but it has had the effect of saturating the company with intelligent, driven employees. Virtru's focus on consumer privacy is one of critical importance these days, and it's exciting to work with people who understand and get excited about that mission. There is a great meaningful work to life balance here. Work weeks seem to hover pretty close to 40 hours on average, but everyone is willing to put in the extra time and work to meet critical deadlines or put out fires. Importantly, not a single meeting in months has felt useless, and there is a high ratio of working hours to meeting hours. Despite the slowing growth, it feels like there are good career opportunities. Executive leadership has been very transparent and communicative about where the organization is going and how that translates into opportunities for employees. Personally, I am excited for the next few years.

Cons

There is a strong work-from-home and remote culture. While this is a huge perk for many employees, it does mean that some of the leadership team are remote. To their credit, they spend about 2 weeks per month traveling to the mothership, but it would be nice to drive office culture with a consistent executive presence. Also, while benefits have been improving incrementally, they could certainly be better. The healthcare options are affordable (free in many cases) but lacking in robustness of coverage in parts, and there is no 401k matching.
