Pros

Nice coworkers! Snacks! Hybrid work!* Work that feels super important! Community charity days! One time they brought in zoo animals! * hybrid role stability pending constant change

Cons

I, along with 299 other employees, have been laid off after years of service. After being told how important my role was in the company. After being told I could stay at Vizient for years, heck, some employees have remained for decades. That all changed. It's like the veil of acceptance, community, and employees first was lifted in such a short time to reveal that even though they say that profits are record highs and they'll do anything to prevent layoffs, they then turn around, hire a bunch of consultants, and trim the fat. half the work force affected with hundreds looking for new employment, because Vizient decided for what feels like the 5th time now to change direction and restructure. It's more important to Vizient to stay competitive than it is to care about the people who make that happen. My entire department is gone, even my director was blind sided. Looking at the new organizational chart, it seems like they're eliminating once critical components of what they do. And my God, the technical teams...I guess they just don't want engineers and architects anymore. But the worst part of it was the pathetic excuse of their town halls. Used to be transparent, where you could comment, share emojis...but when people started using laughing emojis to express disdain for the top brass's choices, those were silenced. Then comments were moved to a separate platform where people continued complaining. Then the brass wouldn't answer direct questions, but rather pre prepared soft balls. I've given up on the dream that was this amazing job. I hope they make so much money, I really do.

Pros

BCBS Health Insurance. HSA account. Friendly colleagues for the most part. Lots of PTO days. Decent total comp package.

Cons

High chance of stress and poor work life balance in the following roles: Category Managers, Contract Managers, Portfolio Executives (experience was shared by colleagues in these roles). Seeing a lot of people leave the company. Didn't hear of lay offs so the departures were probably voluntary. Company mostly hiring because many people leave the company so career opportunity is good if you want to role the dice. Decent amount of benefits, but hard to use them when you are always working long hours to stay afloat.
