Pros

Supportive and Talented Colleagues: The people at Vizient are great—collaborative, friendly, and truly care about their work. Strong Workplace Relationships: I made lasting friendships and had the chance to work with some very smart and driven individuals. Work-Life Balance: Depending on the role, work-life balance was generally respected. Mission-Driven Culture: The company is focused on improving healthcare, which adds purpose to the work. Longevity and Career Growth: I was able to grow and stay with the company for nearly a decade, which speaks to the opportunities and environment in some areas.

Cons

Lack of Strategic Stability: Frequent shifts in direction, leadership changes, and ongoing restructuring created a sense of instability within the product management team. Poor Clarity from Leadership: Despite emphasizing “clarity over uncertainty,” leadership often failed to provide clear goals, priorities, or communication. Inconsistent Execution of Company Vision: The "One Vizient" message was often at odds with the reality, especially in how clients experienced the company. Underwhelming Technology and Analytics Offerings: For a company that emphasizes data and innovation, the actual products and tools often felt outdated or underdeveloped. Disconnect Between Corporate Messaging and Client Experience: Clients often felt the impact of internal disorganization, which diminished trust and satisfaction.

Pros

BCBS Health Insurance. HSA account. Friendly colleagues for the most part. Lots of PTO days. Decent total comp package.

Cons

High chance of stress and poor work life balance in the following roles: Category Managers, Contract Managers, Portfolio Executives (experience was shared by colleagues in these roles). Seeing a lot of people leave the company. Didn't hear of lay offs so the departures were probably voluntary. Company mostly hiring because many people leave the company so career opportunity is good if you want to role the dice. Decent amount of benefits, but hard to use them when you are always working long hours to stay afloat.
