Pros

Private contractor you can set your own work hours. You work independently of others, and you are your own boss. Don't have to worry about office politics.

Cons

Incompetent Managers, This is a communications company, and the management fails to communicate to the employees. Managers are very unprofessional, they allow personal employee confidential information to be spread throughout the office. They order "Random" drug testing that are not at all "Random". There is racial discrimination in the workplace, that is not just happening with the field workers, but with senior management as well. Sexual discrimination is allowed in the workplace. They have a lack of Human Resources management and reporting procedures. When employees are disciplined, the discipline is not fair and is not consistant with other employees who have the same or worse issues. The Benefits package is joke, and the payroll department is also incompetent. when I first started with the company almost two years ago it took them five weeks to get me my first check. This happens with a lot of new hires. VTG (Volt Telecommunications Group) is reluctant to pay their employees when the work has been done. Their payroll department conducts business out of trailers in Fresno, Ca and employees that work out of these trailers are not properly trained and have no follow-thru with the field emplyees. Supervisors ask you to work overtime, however when you fill out your timesheet for the week, you are not compensated for your worktime! VTG is completely out of compliance with the California State Labor Board, Osha, and local, Federal Labor laws.

Pros

Opportunity to meet and work with amazing people and client companies

Cons

They do not match 401k, you need to find your own coverage to use PTO. Operations is always the scapegoat when something goes wrong. Employees in any department that are not sales are undervalued and under compensated. Nepotism is huge at this company. No job security, layoffs every quarter.
