Pros
Great manager Opportunity to run your own business Fun atmosphere (in some offices, definitely not all and this could be in the minority) Competitive spirit Training Decent exposure to management, at least for a Fortune 1000
Cons
Low base - $30-$40k for a direct-hire recruiter Poor business / job orders - sales didn't bring in good business. Because your compensation depended on being able to fill jobs, this made making money difficult. This is on the permanent placement side of the business. The contract staffing group is different as they have large tier-1 programs. Sales organization - sales people don't produce anything but more so, the leadership was terrible. The only worked on 1 type of business and neglected the other 5-6 groups. I never saw the Director of Sales do anything.
